My kitten’s journey has been truly heartbreaking — filled with pain, discomfort, and silent suffering that she could not express. It all began on 07 September 2025 with a single ring, which gradually multiplied, most likely due to the felt collar. Soon, she developed several small ring-shaped fungal patches all over her body that did not improve despite regular medicated baths twice a week and various topical treatments. Then I discovered Sporidil, which worked exceptionally well. I began using Sporidil when the rings were fresh, and once they formed scabs, I switched to Vital Ring Spray for the older rings and Vital Ring Cream for the newer ones, as it was much easier to apply. When using Sporidil, it’s crucial to ensure the fur is clipped beforehand, as the thick cream can otherwise cling to the hair and reduce effectiveness. This combination brought visible improvement — the redness faded, itching reduced within three days, and within a month, her fur began to grow back beautifully. Though she started as a white kitten, she is now a charming mix of brown and white, wearing her journey of recovery with pride.
Sadly, we are now battling a relapse, with new clusters — nineteen rings across two places — far worse than before, despite meticulous daily sterilisation, regular washing of linen, and three doses of vaccination. It has been painful to witness the infection return after such encouraging progress, but I remain determined to repeat the same treatment cycle with renewed care, attention, and love. However, I have firmly decided not to administer Itraconazole syrup, as its potential impact on her liver outweighs any relief. This journey has been long and emotional, but I am hopeful that persistence, patience, and the right care will once again help my little one heal completely.
